The cherry blossoms around the fountain in City Center in Newport News, VA were beautiful this year! I love spring and all the gorgeous flowers and trees that bloom.  The Yoshino cherry has a light pink blossom but does not bear any fruit.  They are pretty in the spring and in the fall the leaves turn an orange-red.  These are the same trees in DC that host the Cherry Blossom Parade.  I have never been to DC to see the cherry blossoms, but City Center in Newport News has the same cherry trees around the fountain.  When I heard they were in full bloom, I knew I had to  head over to see them before they lost their blooms.  Enjoy some pics of my vantage point!

Back home, we have a cherry tree known as the Granddaddy tree.  Dear friends gave us this tree when my father-in-law passed away 17 years old.  This is a very special cherry tree.
